Review ponders its final season
Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Thursday, March 16. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
Review (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.): Comedy Central’s Review kicks off its third and final season tonight, as Forrest MacNeil (Andy Daly) continues to rank the everyday experiences of life on his five-star scale. Forrest opens this season by being on trial for murder; let’s see how high that ranks as an experience (we’re guessing it will get the non-revered “half-star’). TV Editor Erik Adams talked to Daly about the series’ sardonic black-comedy journey; Emily L. Stephens will handle the weekly reviews of Review.
Regular coverage
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, 8 p.m.)
Scandal (ABC, 9 p.m.)
Colony (USA, 10 p.m.)
Wild card
The A.V. Club (Fusion, 9 p.m.): We would be pretty remiss in our What’s On Tonight duties if we didn’t include a plug to our editor-at-large John Teti’s new The A.V. Club TV show on Fusion, which debuts tonight! You know how brilliant John is on the page in pieces like his Block & Tackle column. Well, he’s like that but tenfold on the small screen. Full disclosure: We crashed the first episode taping, and John’s initial monologue deserves to stand among the ranks of giants like Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and John Oliver, but if they were focusing on pop culture over politics. Sure, we may be slightly biased, but still: Don’t you want to say you saw it from the very beginning? (You’ll also catch some glimpses of staffers like A.A. Dowd, Laura M. Browning, Danette Chavez, and Erik Adams as well.)
