Rex Daisy: Guys And Dolls

Rex Daisy: Guys And Dolls

Rex Daisy was hosed by its major label before Guys and Dolls (or any record, for that matter) could be released. Listening to the long-delayed album, you have to wonder who'd be foolish enough to reject it: Full of sparkling Midwestern pop-rock, Guys and Dolls is as commercially accessible and innocently appealing as records come. Songs like "OK, Casey," "Bottom O' The World" and "The Last Pufferbird" could easily have been transformed into ubiquitous radio hits, while the previously released cover of "Welcome Back" has novelty-kitsch value to boot. Guys and Dolls is a minor miracle, but you'll have to discover it without it being jammed down your throat via a jillion-dollar marketing campaign. Get on it.
