Rian Johnson's Knives Out will close Fantastic Fest 2019
As if you need another reason to get your butt down to Austin for Fantastic Fest next month, the festival has officially announced Rian Johnson’s Knives Out as this year’s closing night film. Oh, but that’s not all—the second wave lineup has arrived, and with it even more excellent titles, including Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite, which won the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes film festival; Richard Stanley’s adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s Color Out Of Space (starring Nicolas Cage, y’all); the new mind-bender from filmmaking duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who previously debuted The Endless and Spring at the fest; and the upcoming horror flick The Lodge. This year also brings a celebration of Mexican genre films and LGBTQ+ programming with a repertory lineup that includes Lyle (2014), Prey (1977), and The Black Pit Of Dr. M (1959).
