Richard Armitage and Preacher’s Graham McTavish will vamp it up in Castlevania series

Netflix has seen fit to give us a premiere date and teaser for its upcoming Castlevania adaptation, but we still know very little about the production. The brief preview revealed that someone’s looking to take down Dracula, but that’s kind of a given. What also seemed likely is that the series, from Power/Rangers’ Adi Shankar, would attract an all-star voice cast. Shankar confirmed that in a video casting announcement yesterday, where he was joined by Preachers Graham McTavish, who will voice Dracula in the series. The Hobbit’s Richard Armitage is set to hunt the legendary vampire as Trevor Belmont (who first appeared in Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse), while Battlestar Galacticas James Callis will provide the dulcet tones of Alucard, son of Dracula.

The rest of the core cast includes Max Headroom’s Matt Frewer, who’s voicing the Bishop; Supernatural’s Emily Swallow as Lisa Tepes, a former wife of Dracula; Tony Amendola as The Elder; and Alejandra Reynoso as Sypha Beinades.

Castlevania premieres July 7 on Netflix.
