Rick And Morty finally returns for more dimension-hopping adventures

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Sunday, July 30. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Rick And Morty (Adult Swim, 11:30 p.m.): After an interminable 18-month wait, everyone’s favorite traveling pair finally returns to Adult Swim tonight. Apparently, there was a lot of pressure on the show’s third season, leading to the delay; co-creator Dan Harmon tweeted: “The reason S3 took long is because it took long to write, because it was S3 of a show that we were scared to make worse than S2 or S1.” Co-creator Justin Roiland underlined that sentiment, telling TV editor Erik Adams that “I think it was the pursuit of perfection [that] was our biggest enemy this season, as opposed to just having fun. And by the way, I want to clarify: I think this season is fucking amazing. We come out the other end of an incredible run.” The show’s many fervent fans can’t wait as it all kicks off tonight with “Rickmancing The Stone”; reviewer Zack Handlen has his spaceship all fueled up and ready to go.
