Rick And Morty make a surprise appearance in the Justice League teaser
Comic-Con might be over, but the analysis of all the tidbits and trailers that were shared is far from it. Among the geeky bounty was a first look at Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie, which introduced all the living/prospective members of the group.
The intro reel’s surprisingly lighthearted, especially considering the circumstances that would necessitate the formation of a superhero team would presumably be quite dire. (But maybe they just want to get a group healthcare plan.) It does raise a lot of questions, such as whether Bruce Wayne will let Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) keep that Batarang. But if, like us, you were wondering what it is that Arthur Curry a.k.a Aquaman (Jason Momoa) whispers to fish that inspires them to lay down their lives to feed all those landlubbers, you might have missed a reference to a different brawny brawler.
Internet denizen/hero @George_404 saw past Ben Affleck’s frozen grimace, and noticed that the “Something Ricked This Way Comes” episode of Rick And Morty was playing during the scene in which Batfleck recruits The Flash. Morty isn’t featured in screengrabs captured above, which show Summer and Rick teaming up against the Devil. (Maybe it will turn out to be a nod to Darkseid’s parademons?) The Summer-centric season one episode appears downright vibrant when compared to all the dark wool suits and hair in the sequence, so it probably shouldn’t have gotten by so many people. In any case, Rick And Morty co-creator Justin Roiland is delighted with the development.
We now look forward to the scene in which an episode of BoJack Horseman plays on an iPad clutched by a mopey Superman.
