Ricky Gervais announces third season of The Ricky Gervais Show, makes plans for a fourth

HBO has renewed The Ricky Gervais Show for a third season of the animated abuse of Karl Pilkington, according to an announcement first made on Gervais’ blog. As with previous seasons, the next round of episodes will continue to draw from past recordings of Gervais’ podcasts and audiobooks, with Gervais remarking to The British Comedy Guide that it will likely “use up the rest of the best stuff.” So he’s currently planning on recording a brand-new batch of material for a fourth season, which seems increasingly likely. It should be interesting to see whether the intervening years of Pilkington’s celebrity has had any discernible effect on his self-awareness. Probably not. Also, are they going to start drawing the cartoon Ricky Gervais a little skinnier now?
