Rihanna drops new track, “Work,” teases release date for long-delayed album
After weeks of speculation, Rihanna has finally released her long-rumored collaboration track with Drake. Titled “Work,” the singer has billed it as the first single from her upcoming album Anti. If that claim proves to be true, it presumably means that Rihanna’s popular 2015 singles “Four, Five Seconds” and “Bitch Better Have My Money” probably won’t make the final track list on the newest record. “Work” represents the third time that Drake and Riri have collaborated, after pairing up for “What’s My Name” for the singer’s 2010 record Loud and the title track from Drake’s 2011 album Take Care.
The release of “Work” also comes with the news that Anti might finally be on the way. According to a report from Billboard, the album could arrive as soon as this week; apparently, Rihanna’s inability to commit to a lead single for the album delayed its release, while Samsung—which committed to a $25 million sponsorship deal for Anti—has been pressuring her to hurry things up behind the scenes. “Work” is only officially available on Tidal on the moment, but you can listen to a radio rip of the song below.
