It turns out that radio stations, listeners, and 11 different countries aren’t the only ones who don’t much care for Rihanna’s new “S&M” single: Candy-crazed fashion photographer David “Not Dave Chappelle” LaChapelle is actually suing the pop star over the "S&M" video, which he says appropriates images that are “directly derived” from his own work. The suit also names Island Def Jam and the video’s director Melina Matsoukas—who’s been accused of plagiarism before on her video for M.I.A.’s “Rude Boy”—and claims that they knowingly copied the “composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe, and lighting.” Well yeah, but what about the feel? Oh, there it is. Anyway, RadarOnline has a pretty damning side-by-side comparison of the two. It seems like they could have at least skipped the scene where Rihanna is trussed up and hanging from a harness; it’s almost like they wanted to get caught. By the way, did we mention that this story is not about Dave Chappelle? Yeah, it's not.
