RIP Howard Zinn
Historian Howard Zinn has died of a heart attack in Santa Monica, California. He was 87. A favorite of bleeding hearts (like ours), Zinn wrote and spoke eloquently about the plight of regular folk trampled by The Man. (Yes, I realize that's a gross oversimplification, but it's quittin' time.) Pop-culture nerds will recognize the shout-out that his most famous book, A People's History Of The United States, got from Matt Damon's character in Good Will Hunting. Boston.com has a solid piece on his history here.
