RIP Norman Mailer
One of the world's great larger-than-life literary personalities died Saturday: Norman Mailer helped found the New Journalism movement, stabbed his second wife, ran for mayor of New York City, battled Gore Vidal, and—perhaps most important—wrote classic books like The Naked And The Dead and The Executioner's Song. Mailer wasn't what you would call a beloved figure—here's a list of some of his enemies—but that's what made him so lovable to his fans.
