RIP Roy Scheider

A likeable character actor whose everyday-guy brand of toughness made him a stand-out in '70s blockbusters like Jaws and The French Connection, Roy Scheider died Sunday at age 75. A cause of death wasn't released, though Scheider had been treated for bone marrow cancer for the past two years. A two-time Oscar nominee for The French Connection and 1979's All That Jazz Scheider is most famous for Jaws and uttering the classic line: "We're going to need a bigger boat." Scheider's other notable films include the awesome (and awesomely underrated) Sorcerer, Klute, and Marathon Man.
