RIP Songwriter John Stewart

Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste
Since it's snowy and gray as this reporter stares out the fogged-up window of a Denver coffee shop, let's keep the sadness coming: Singer-songwriter John Stewart died Saturday of a brain aneurysm at the age of 68. Stewart had been a member of The Kingston Trio in the '60s; recorded a string of critically acclaimed solo albums throughout his career; penned songs for everyone from Joan Baez to Roseanne Cash; and teamed up with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham for the hit single "Gold" in 1979. He'll always be best known, though, for writing The Monkees' bittersweet "Daydream Believer."
