Riverdale suggests it’s time to “Fire Walk With Me”

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Wednesday, March 6. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Riverdale (The CW, 8 p.m.): The tragic, unexpected passing of Luke Perry may make Riverdale a tough watch for awhile, particularly for those who grew up with Dylan McKay. (If that’s true for you, just know that Documentary Now! has Cate Blanchett waiting for you, that Deadly Class is absorbing enough, and that You’re The Worst is on one of its hot streaks.) But tonight’s episode, “Fire Walk With Me,” pretty much demands your attention, by virtue of the David Lynch reference alone.

Twin Peaks is an influence Riverdale has worn on its sleeve since the beginning, and the sight (pictured above) of Gina Gershon on that stage is reason enough to tune in. If it’s just too soon, Riverdale—which has suspended production—will wait. If it’s a comfort, there’s plenty more to stream.

Regular coverage

You’re The Worst (FXX, 10 p.m.)
Deadly Class (Syfy, 10 p.m.)
Documentary Now! (IFC, 11 p.m.)

Wild card

Schitt’s Creek (Pop, 10 p.m.): We’ve had “A Little Bit Alexis” stuck in our heads for a week straight. Our only hope is to check back in with the fine people of Schitt’s Creek and hope they’ve got another pop song ready to go, or at least another cover of “Simply The Best.”
