Rob Huebel will star in American Storage, a new IFC comedy pilot based around a 2006 short film that starred Steve Carell and David Krumholtz. The series tells the story of the unlikely friendship forged between a storage facility employee, played by John Karna, and Kurt, played by Huebel, a semi-crazy guy who lives in one of the facility’s units. Kurt steals Wi-Fi from the building next door and prides himself on living cheaply—but he probably has to defecate in a bucket, so it’s a trade-off. Andrew Jay Cohen and Neighbors’ Brendan O’Brien wrote both the original short and the pilot.
