Rob Riggle is also onboard for that Monty Python reunion movie
Rob Riggle is the latest actor to be cast in that Monty Python sort-of reunion film, Absolutely Anything. The former Daily Show correspondent will join Simon Pegg, Eddie Izzard, and Kate Beckinsale in the Terry Jones-directed comedy about a disillusioned school teacher, aliens who gift magical powers, and a talking dog. John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, and Michael Palin are onboard to voice the aliens while Robin Williams will lend his voice to the canine. According to Deadline, Riggle—who’s currently shooting a pilot with Rob Lowe—will play a character named Colonel Grant. It’s not clear exactly how the Colonel fits into the plot, but given that Riggle was a real-life Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserves for 23 years, he seems like an ideal fit for the role. Production is set to begin in London in April.
