Robert De Niro wonders aloud about what the hell happened to Robert De Niro

Upon receiving a Hollywood Film Award for his work in The Silver Linings Playbook, Robert De Niro took the opportunity to express his disappointment that he's so rarely on the receiving end of any award these days—only, in keeping with the modern Robert De Niro, doing so in more of a humorously grumpy fashion, reminiscent of the many far-from-award-worthy roles he's taken in recent years. "I've gotten pretty good at giving out awards, but frankly I've gotten out of practice accepting an award myself," De Niro said of his nights spent being "the go-to guy in handing out the hardware" to everyone from Meryl Streep to Sean Penn, once again playing his irascibility for yuks here in an ironic illustration of exactly why that is. De Niro also noted he was well aware that "[Leonardo] DiCaprio has taken my place in Marty [Scorsese]'s movies," laughing this off before returning to work on whatever low-rent, Scorsese-aping thriller offered him enough money to growl a couple of lines at 50 Cent.
