Robert Downey Jr. endorses the badass new Iron Man

Earlier this week Marvel announced that a new character, 15-year-old black female tech prodigy Riri Williams, will become the new Iron Man. Not that anyone needed his approval, but Robert Downey Jr. is into it. The man who plays Iron Man on screen tweeted out the released image of Riri with the caption: “Get ready for a new generation of Marvel BAMF…”

Riri will assume the superhero role at the end of the Civil War II series, according to Time. Of course, Downey’s Tony is still very much a part of the films. He’ll next appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming. We only hope that perhaps one day we’ll get to see a Riri on screen.
