Think Tom Cruise is a flake? Well, Robert Towne disagrees, and he wrote Chinatown, so he should know.The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Towne is criticizing Paramount for firing Cruise.
"I think the business with Paramount hurt Paramount more than it did Tom, if for no other reason than the way that they disengaged from him was outrageous," Towne said. "It was ugly and stupid to a degree. I wouldn't say it's incomprehensible it's happened, but they didn't do themselves any favours."
Not interested in any of this? You're probably better off, but if you get interested, at least Towne will give you a classier way to enter the discussion than, say, US Weekly.
