Robot Chicken writers to pen movie based on Ubisoft’s horrible Rabbids
Ubisoft’s Rabbids—terrifyingly impulsive and eccentric rabbit-like aliens that exist to cause nothing but havoc—have been around in the video game world for a while, initially popping up as enemies in Rayman games. However, their constant screaming and deceptively cute appearance quickly made them popular characters in their own right, and over the years they’ve starred in a bunch of video games on their own. They even have their own TV show, Rabbids Invasion, which airs on Nickelodeon.
Now, Ubisoft has teamed up with Sony to make a movie about the Rabbids, and Variety is reporting that Robot Chicken writers Matthew Senreich, Tom Sheppard, and Zeb Wells have been hired to write it. The article notes that all three of them have won Emmys for Robot Chicken, so they can probably wring a plot of some kind out of these little monsters, but we’re still not sure what that plot could possibly be. Unlike the similarly wild Minions from Despicable Me, the Rabbids don’t have a goal or a guiding philosophy. They just like to scream, wave their arms, and watch as the world burns around them. Basically, we think this movie is going to be pretty scary.
