Roger Ebert to publish first review since July on Friday

In his first dispatch in a month, critic Roger Ebert gives a more detailed report of the ups and downs of his rehabilitation. Since July, he's suffered harrowing bouts of "sudden and serious" bleeding and confesses to having no memory of two months of his life. Now back on the mend, he's learning how to walk again and will publish his first review this Friday of The Queen, which was screened to him on DVD. We're guessing it will be a rave, but then again, we're guessing Ebert would give a rubber stamp to just about anything after months in the dark. (And really, the dude liked Cop And A Half when he had all his faculties together, so it's really a slam dunk.) Here's hoping he gets well soon, if only to keep the increasingly inane "guest hosts" from taking his seat on Ebert & Roeper.
