Ronald D. Moore turning Heath Ledger movie A Knight's Tale into a TV series
Joining a recent rash of movie-to-TV series adaptations and borrowed ideas on ABC, Deadline reports that the network has purchased a script from Battlestar Galactica's Ronald D. Moore, in which he will lend his acumen for reviving mostly forgotten properties to 2001's A Knight's Tale. Like the original film, the series will marry the old-fashioned romance of medieval fantasy to the slightly less old-fashioned romance and occasional medieval fantasy of rock songs, with jousting and scenes of knightly merrymaking set to modern music and incorporating modern themes—such as the universal modern feeling of watching Game Of Thrones and wishing you owned that show and then realizing you could get A Knight's Tale for pretty cheap. Unlike the original film, it will not star Heath Ledger, as he is dead and, unlike most other things these days, unable to be revived on television.
