Roseanne Barr says she's drowning in offers for new TV shows
Here’s something we can file under “comebacks we didn’t ask for”: Just weeks after a racist tweet led ABC to dump her, Roseanne Barr claims she’s fielding a shit-ton of offers to make her way back to the small screen.
Yes, it seems that, in a world where we can’t get another season of Hannibal, Barr could soon take up airtime once more. The Roseanne creator was recently a guest on Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s podcast, where she divulged that she’d “already been offered so many things and I almost already accepted one really good offer to go back on TV and I might do it. But we’ll see.” Barr didn’t expand on which networks or producers were courting her, but Stacey Dash’s departure from Fox News leaves at least one vacant (in more ways than one) position.
ABC canceled the Roseanne revival after Barr tweeted that Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett looked like an “ape,” a racist comment that was also denounced by her former co-star Sara Gilbert. Now the network is moving forward with a Roseanne-less spin-off, The Conners, a title which only applies to Dan and Becky now, but that’s really the least of its problems.
