Rosemarie DeWitt to sing along with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in La La Land

Deadline is reporting that Rosemarie DeWitt (Kill The Messenger, Olive Kitteridge) has signed on to sing along with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in Damien Chazelle’s La La Land. The musical film centers on a jazz pianist (Gosling) and an aspiring actress (Stone) who fall in love in modern-day Los Angeles. The couple will struggle to stay together when their careers take different trajectories, with DeWitt, as Stone’s sister, on hand to dispense advice via song. DeWitt, who recently starred in that Poltergeist remake, might feel a little like a fifth wheel on set: La La Land will not only see Gosling and Stone play an onscreen couple for a third time, but also reunite J.K. Simmons with his Whiplash director Chazelle.
