Rowlf The Dog gets his star turn covering Biz Markie
There’s a reason we all enjoy a good Muppet/hip-hop mashup, no matter how simple the process may be: They’re delightful. No stranger to these parts, Mylo The Cat is one of our foremost purveyors of Muppet-based rap video mashups, having previously delivered winners like the Beastie Boys’ “So What’cha Want” as performed by The Swedish Chef, Beaker, and Animal, and Naughty By Nature’s “Hip Hop Hooray,” delivered by Kermit, Fozzie, Beaker, and special guest star Lena Horne. (Beaker can spit some hot fire, it seems.)
Now it’s Rowlf The Dog’s turn to shine, as this newest installment demonstrates the piano-playing mutt’s affinity for the Biz Markie classic, “Just A Friend.” Mylo has really upped his game here, delivering some impressively long sequences that flow together seamlessly. Also props for having Piggy deliver the lines The Biz says his girl utters—total baller move on her part.
