Rumors of Terry Gilliam’s demise have been greatly exaggerated (or have they?)
As happens occasionally, yesterday Variety erroneously reported on the death of film director Terry Gilliam, which of course wasn’t true because Gilliam is not allowed to die until he finally finishes his Don Quixote movie, per the terms of his deal with Satan (Amazon). The mistake appears to have been the result of someone accidentally publishing the publication’s pre-written Gilliam obituary early—which, again, happens sometimes—and the post was quickly taken down and an apology was issued.
But being a Python and all, Gilliam wasn’t going to let this opportunity to goof on his own death pass him by, posting on Facebook:

So, if you ask Terry Gilliam, he’s dead. But then again, he’s been known to associate with liars. You’ll probably have to buy a ticket to one of his talks promoting his autobiography, the now-ironically titled Gilliamesque, A Pre-Posthumous Memoir, to be sure.
