Run The Jewels sips whiskey, makes NPR dance in its Tiny Desk performance

NPR’s Tiny Desk series has been on a hot streak as of late. Last week the series welcomed D.R.A.M., who smiled through the whole thing just like Gucci Mane did back in December. This week the series brought Run The Jewels into the NPR office just as the duo is kicking off a tour in support of Run The Jewels 3. From the very start, El-P and Killer Mike show their ability to make any room warm up to them, as El takes a sip of whiskey and tries to get the staff to clap along and Mike can’t stop from grinning as he spits his verse in “Talk To Me.” Offering up three tracks from RTJ3, the pair perform to the intimate crowd like it’s a festival, as Mike encourages people to dance—”Your boss ain’t lookin’“—and El-P briefly uses a banana as a makeshift microphone. You can check out the entire three-song performance below.
