RuPaul is launching a U.K. version of Drag Race, wants Meghan Markle as a guest judge

RuPaul’s Drag Race has come a long way since it’s shoestring debut season sissied that walk nearly 10 years ago. This year, it swept the Emmy Awards’ reality categories, and now it’s been announced that the show will travel overseas for a U.K. edition. Variety reports that it will premiere on the BBC next year.

“It is a dream come true to extend our royal family to the United Kingdom with our partners at BBC Three,” RuPaul said in a statement. “I am beyond excited to celebrate the massive charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent of the Queen’s queens.”

Speaking of royalty, Mama Ru already has a guest judge in mind. “And before anyone asks, yes, we would be thrilled to have Meghan Markle join us, as we are already preparing a ‘Royal-Mother-to-Be’ runway challenge.”

While we’re sure they’ll recruit some U.K. talent to round out the show’s judging panel, it appears that Drag Race staple Michelle Visage isn’t going anywhere. “Of course I am a judge… I am THE judge!!” she wrote.

Thank. God.

Stateside, RuPaul will lord over the inaugural RuPaul’s Drag Race Holi-slay Spectacular this Friday, with the fourth installment of Drag Race All-Stars to follow on December 14th.
