RuPaul’s Drag Race gets a premiere date, two new judges

RuPaul’s Drag Race, the first (but hopefully not the last) TV show to be sponsored by boobsforqueens.com, has set its season seven premiere for March 2, 2015 at 9 p.m. And much to the relief of Alyssa Edwards, Santino Rice and his vast collection of kerchiefs will not be back on the judges panel. Replacing him are Queer Eye For The Straight Guy’s Carson Kressley and Chelsea Lately’s Ross Matthews, both of whom are reportedly longtime Drag Race fans. “I have never been more qualified to do anything in my entire life,” Matthews says.

In conjunction with the show’s ever-growing profile (and budget—looking back, the first season was clearly held together with puns and wig tape), Ru, Michelle Visage, and their new friends will be joined by a rotating panel of celebrity guest judges. The famous, heavily made-up faces on display will include such legendary queens as Ariana Grande (who will presumably appear on the hair extensions episode), Jessica Alba (same, but with posing for Maxim), porn historian John Waters, Demi Lovato, Kathy Griffin, Olivia Newton-John, Alyssa Milano, Kat Dennings, Jordin Sparks, Mel B, Tamar Braxton, Rebecca Romijn, Isaac Mizrahi, Michael Urie, Rachael Harris, Lucian Piane and Merle Ginsberg. Rice is scheduled to appear as a guest judge, but will then sashay away.
