RuPaul’s Drag Race sashays over to VH1 for season 9

For the first time in its herstory, RuPaul’s Drag Race will walk the runway at VH1. In a joint press release, Logo and VH1 (which are both owned by Viacom, along with a ton of other assets) announced that reality TV’s fiercest and most fabulous competition show would sashay over to VH1 on Friday nights beginning March 24. The move‘s intended to boost Drag Race’s audience, but the show’s not leaving Logo entirely—encore episodes will air at the series’ original network.

The new cast of queens was announced last month, along with the news that Lady Gaga would be on the judges’ panel for the premiere. To properly whet the appetite for all the gag-worthy moments, Logo is running an exclusive “Race To The Nines” marathon, comprising all preceding seasons of the show, beginning March 19 at 8 p.m. ET. In addition to that stomp down memory lane, the “Race To The Nines” will also feature all-new bonus content, including cut footage and interviews with superfans, judges, and contestants.
