RuPaul's Drag Race wraps up another season in a fashion we find thoroughly confusing
Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Monday, May 6. All times are Eastern.

RuPaul’s Drag Race (Logo, 9 p.m.): So we really don’t understand how this all works. First, there’s the finale, with the final competition? Then there’s a clip show for some reason? And then, only then, does the show choose its winner? This all sounds like a rather silly system to us, but Oliver Sava assures us that everything is proceeding as planned. We’re skeptical, but Oliver has rarely led us wrong in the past. Except for that time he took us to Burning Man and promised us he’d be right back. You never came back, Oliver. You never came back!
REGULAR COVERAGE
Adventure Time (Cartoon Network, 7:30 p.m.): “Finn and Jake meet a horse with the power to cheer up sad people,” says TV Guide’s episode description, and what more do you need, people? If there was a horse that could cheer up sad people in his life, Oliver Sava reckons that he would never stop laughing.
How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8 p.m.): Marshall and Lily get ready to move to Italy. Robin can’t find the “something old” she buried in Central Park years ago. Barney hangs out with the man who will be his father-in-law. If Donna Bowman didn’t know any better, she’d say the season finale is imminent.
Regular Show (Cartoon Network, 8 p.m.): The prize for a donut-eating contest? A cameo on Rigby and Mordecai’s favorite cop show, of course. Alasdair Wilkins once entered a fluffernutter eating contest in hopes that he’d win a cameo on Judge Judy, but then he realized he’d dreamed the whole thing. Aw.
Defiance (Syfy, 9 p.m.): The plot summary says that Kenya is kidnapped. Now calm down. It’s not the whole African nation of Kenya. We’re pretty sure it’s just a character named Kenya. Okay, like, 60 percent sure. Actually, we’re going to call Rowan Kaiser and make sure the whole nation wasn’t taken.
Bates Motel (A&E, 10 p.m.): After a sad end for Norman’s new dog, Judo, at the conclusion of last week’s episode, this week’s hour is entitled “A Boy And His Dog,” so you know what that means. Todd VanDerWerff is going to embark upon a walk across a post-apocalyptic wasteland with his Irish setter.
Rectify (Sundance, 10 p.m.): It’s nice to know that the first six episodes of this terrific new show won’t be the only six episodes of this terrific new show, thanks to Sundance picking it up for a 10-episode second season. Erik Adams couldn’t have taken it if these were the only bits of small town ennui he got.
Revolution (NBC, 10 p.m.): This episode is called “The Love Boat,” and while that could just be a clever episode title, we’re hoping somebody’s hauled out Gavin MacLeod for a star-studded spectacular! With guest stars Bill Cosby, Ellie Kemper, Emeril Lagasse, Joan Didion, Joel Osteen, and Dancin’ Les Chappell!
TV CLUB CLASSIC
Peep Show (11 a.m.): After the third season finale aired, Peep Show took a good 16 months off before returning with season four in the spring of 2007. But with time traveling madman Phil Dyess-Nugent and his “Internet streaming” machine, you can simply dive right in. Watch out for the time goblins, though!
Batman: The Animated Series (1 p.m.): Wait. We forgot this was the end of this feature—at least unless Oliver Sava’s going to review some of the direct-to-video movies or whatever. But with the team-up of a bunch of Batman’s greatest villains, it had better be the last episode. It had nowhere to go but down!
WHAT ELSE IS ON
Rihanna 777 (Fox, 8 p.m.): Everybody’s favorite pop chanteuse travels to seven countries for seven concerts in seven days, complete with a plane full of journalists who were apparently put through hell while covering it! We’re just disappointed she didn’t do seven shows on seven continents. Oh well!
Dear Mom, Love Cher (Lifetime, 10 p.m.): Have you been waiting for the debut of a new documentary about the life of Cher’s mom? Well, even if you haven’t, the Lifetime network is going to give you one. We are reliably informed that Ms. Georgia Holt is awesome, so maybe this will be worth your time.
Newlyweds (Bravo, 10 p.m.): If you thought this was a resurrection of the old MTV series and somebody made Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey get married again for our entertainment, well, you’re probably sad to find out it’s just a series where a new set of newlyweds is followed every week, aren’t you?
Felt (Logo, 10:30 p.m.): The thing we’ve been waiting for all along finally happens, as somebody gives a bunch of puppets a chance to reenact recorded couples and sex therapy sessions. Now all we need is somebody to do an advice call-in program with cats! Sonia Saraiya’s favorite puppets are Sifl and Olly.
Cinderella (Disney Channel, 8 p.m.): We honestly didn’t know that the Disney Channel showed stuff that was more than 10 years old anymore, so we’re including this, just because it’s nice to see the classic tale of the unlikely young princess and her wicked stepsisters airing somewhere in American primetime.
The Last Samurai (AMC, 8 p.m.): The only thing we remember of this movie is when Tom Cruise lays in his cell after being taken by the samurai and cries, “SAKKKKEEEEE!” because he really wants a sake. But we’re pretty sure the movie is just awful outside of that one moment. “SAKKKKEEE! SAAAAAKKKEEE!”
Stanley Cup Playoff: Game 4: Ducks at Red Wings (CNBC, 8 p.m.): The NBA’s playoffs got a week’s head start on the NHL’s playoffs, but the latter league is doing its best to catch up. Here, the Red Wings attempt to tie this series up at two games apiece, while the Ducks try to go up three games to one.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
The Borgias (Sunday): We’ve fallen behind on this season, which is too bad, since we like this show. We’re just counting on Les Chappell to let us know what’s been happening, what was awesome, and how many times somebody says “The Borgia pope!” as a vague epithet. It’s probably in the hundreds.
