Rupert Murdoch’s ongoing dressing-down before the members of Parliament over the News Of The World phone-hacking brouhaha just had its probable signature moment, as a protestor attempted to throw a “foam pie” in Murdoch’s face. Unfortunately for him, Murdoch’s shield systems are impenetrable, and his wife Wendi leaped in to smack the interloper, who ended up with the pie all over his own face. He has since been identified as comedian Jonnie Marbles, who telegraphed his intention on Twitter half an hour ago, saying, "It is a far better thing that I do now than I have ever done before #splat." Anyway, this, naturally, leads to all sorts of puns about “humble pie,” suspects in “custardy,” and other such shenanigans, as most Parliament proceedings are just like long Benny Hill skits.
