Russell Crowe in talks to play Superman's dad
Accompanied by a questionable visual aid, Showblitz/Variety has announced that Russell Crowe is in negotiations to join Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel as Jor-El, biological father to Superman, and master of creating interactive holograms capable of dispensing fatherly advice long after one has been blown to smithereens. The role was most famously played by Marlon Brando in both the Richard Donner and Bryan Singer films, prompting producer Christopher Nolan to seek a similarly A-list actor to play him in the newest version. No doubt he was also encouraged by Crowe’s recent vow that he will “always stand for the perfection of babies,” as what baby is more perfect than baby Superman?
