Ryan Adams announces tour, releases new single “Doomsday”

It was pretty exciting news for Ryan Adams fans when news broke late summer that their favorite shaggy-haired sadsack would soon be releasing his first non-Taylor-Swift-related studio album since 2014’s eponymous effort. Then came the first two singles—“Do You Still Love Me” and “To Be Without You”—and all of the anticipation seemed to be justified.

Today, we’re getting a third pre-album-release song, “Doomsday,” a soulful Springsteen-esque ball of sadness that should sweep up the few remaining holdouts.

Prisoner is scheduled to be released on February 17. Shortly thereafter, the 42-year-old alt-country force of nature will be heading out on tour. Here are the first bookings available.
