Ryan Reynolds posts tribute to John Candy on the 25th anniversary of his death

March 4 is the 25th anniversary of the death of comedy icon John Candy, and to mark the occasion, famous Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds has put together a video tribute with the help of Candy’s children Chris and Jen. In a post on Twitter, Reynolds referred to Candy as a “comedic genius and Canadian hero,” asking his followers to “take a look at his films” if they don’t recognize his legacy. Fittingly, given that note, Reynolds’ video features clips from a bunch of Candy’s movies, including Spaceballs, Uncle Buck, Home Alone, Cool Runnings, Stripes, and Planes, Trains And Automobiles. It’s not somber like an Academy Awards memorial and it’s not quite as thoughtfully touching as the “Tell Me About John” tribute from a few years ago, but it is a nice little highlight reel of some good Candy moments.
