Sacha Baron Cohen’s Amazon series isn’t happening

Back in 2015, Amazon announced that it had added yet another high-profile name to its roster of creators, signing Borat and The Brothers Grimsby creator Sacha Baron Cohen to develop a new TV series for the streaming giant. But while Highston—about a man who imagines that he’s surrounded by mid-tier celebrity friends, like Shaq, or the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea—earned itself a pilot order, a the show just wasn’t meant to be. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon has pulled the plug on the series.

Highston was written by Nebraska’s Bob Nelson and directed by Little Miss Sunshines Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris. (Cohen executive produced.) The series starred Lewis Pullman as the imaginative 19-year-old, with Mary Lynn Rajskub and Chris Parnell playing the put-upon parents begging him to stop jamming with fictitious bassists and get his life in order.
