Sam Rockwell is apparently going to sing for Trolls 2

Deadline reports today on some fresh casting news for the upcoming Trolls 2, announcing that recent Oscar-winner Sam Rockwell, and beloved musician Chance The Rapper, have both joined the animated movie’s cast. And, in news certain to delight the one person who still remembers that weird little song and dance Rockwell did for his SNL monologue earlier this year—and because once you’ve got Justin Timberlake, Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick, and Chance The Rapper lined up for your movie, the next obvious impulse is “Let’s go get Sam Rockwell in the booth”—the Three Billboards star will also be contributing a song to the soundtrack. (Don’t worry, Chance is apparently doing a track, too.)

The casting process for the sequel to the 2016 animated hit is, of course, extremely competitive; other recent additions include Anthony Ramos, Karan Soni, Flula Borg, and Jamie Dornan, joining returning cast members like Timberlake, Kendrick, Ron Funches, and James Corden. The sequel is currently scheduled for an April 2020 release date, which will hopefully give Rockwell enough time to get his pipes in order for his big musical debut.
