Sam Waterston and Scoot McNairy join Steven Soderbergh’s Netflix Western
As reported by Deadline, Steven Soderbergh’s Netflix Western series Godless has just added some more big names to its cast. We previously knew that it would star Jeff Daniels, Jack O’Connell, and Michelle Dockery as (respectively) an outlaw, a second outlaw who is running from the first outlaw, and a rancher who is protecting the second outlaw at her farm. Now they’ll be joined by Sam Waterston and Halt And Catch Fire’s Scott McNairy—who is doing a good job of fulfilling his destiny to be in everything. McNairy will be playing a local sheriff and Waterston will be a Federal Marshal who is hunting down Jeff Daniels’ character.
Beyond that, Godless will also feature Christiane Seidel, Randy Oglesby, Justin Welborn, Christopher Fitzgerald, Samantha Soule and Whitney Able. And Better Call Saul’s Audrey Moore has signed on to play “a randy woman in her 30s” who is “dying for a man’s company” (a description so fascinating that everyone deserves to see it). Soderbergh will be executive producing Godless with Out Of Sight’s Scott Frank both writing and directing it. The show itself will run for six episodes and premiere on Netflix at some point next year.
