Samantha Bee’s Correspondents’ Dinner special will broadcast uncensored on Twitter
Earlier today, we reported that Samantha Bee was pulling in some high-profile talent to celebrate the complete destruction of our political ecosystem, with Elvis Costello providing after-dinner entertainment for her Not The White House Correspondents’ Dinner event. Now, Bee has announced a treat for all the cord-cutters in her audience: the special will be broadcast on a one-hour delay this Saturday night on Twitter, complete and uncensored.
“The teens who run our social media accounts said we should do this, and honestly, I was about three margaritas in at the time, so I guess it’s happening,” Bee said in a very on-message press release. (TBS was more publicly enthused, suggesting that interest in the event might drive more viewers to Bee’s Full Frontal.) The special—operating as counter-programming both to the official WHCD, and to President Donald Trump’s own efforts to undercut the annual event’s impact—will air on Saturday night at 10 p.m. Eastern on TBS, and 11 p.m. on Twitter.
