Samuel L. Jackson to play an Old Man on TV

Deadline reports that Samuel L. Jackson will soon be on his way to what could be his first starring role on TV in years. Jackson is set to star in Old Man, a new thriller series about a seemingly normal retiree who’s revealed to actually be on the run from international spies who want him dead. (Also, he’s Samuel L. Jackson, which probably should have clued his friends and neighbors in that there was something more to him than meets the eye.)

Based off a book by Thomas Perry, the series is being developed by Fox 21 TV, Black Sails co-creator Jonathan E. Steinberg, and Fargo producer Warren Littlefield. The show’s creative team is currently pitching it to a number of networks, including FX, TNT, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon.
