Samuel L. Jackson will fight The Blob, likely comprised of DVDs of all his films
Samuel Jackson has truly proven himself to be the Michael Caine of our time, in the sense that he’ll be in just about anything. He’s at 164 roles and counting, according to IMDB, and in 2014 alone he appeared in Kingsman: The Secret Service, Big Game, Kite, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Robocop, Reasonable Doubt, episodes of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Black Dynamite, and the video game Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes. The man is a superhero to us all, in that he inspires us to punch our own time clocks and show up for work every day, no matter the job.
And now Deadline reports that Samuel Jackson will star in Simon West’s upcoming remake of The Blob, about a giant amorphous alien creature likely maybe up of one DVD copy of everything in which Jackson has appeared. The original 1958 film had the title creature threatening a small town, meaning there is a 99 percent chance the update will have it threatening the city of Vancouver (or possibly Toronto) pretending to be whatever American metropolis the movie needs it to be. Jackson will play a “biochemistry professor attempting to thwart the otherworldly predator,” probably only the seventh or eighth time Jackson has played a biochemistry professor trying to stop an alien invader.
