Samurai Jack’s new season is coming in March

It’s been a little more than a year since Cartoon Network announced the long-awaited return of Samurai Jack, Genndy Tartakovsky’s cult-favorite cartoon that left viewers hanging when it was canceled back in 2004. After what must have been 12 months of constant pestering from impatient fans, Adult Swim has come out with a premiere date for the show’s revival, and it’s right around the corner. Jack’s fifth season starts March 11 at 11:30 p.m. Eastern. Twitter user @CabooseJr caught the on-air interstitial that broke the news and posted the clip online:

According to the show’s creators, the new 10-episode season is well removed from the 52 episodes of the show’s initial run and will catch up with a Jack who’s lost his way. Because it’s airing on Adult Swim, the show will be able to pack a bit more of an edge into its depiction of his redemption and journey back to the past. This short featurette from Adult Swim gives a quick look of what to expect when Jack finally returns next month.
