Sandra Bullock and George Clooney may reteam for Our Brand Is Crisis
After some successful repartee in this year's Gravity, George Clooney and Sandra Bullock are looking to work together again. Sadly, it's not on the Gravity sequel we've been hoping for that builds on the first film's shocking ending, in which [SPOILER ALERT] Bullock's character returns safely to Earth, only to find the whole planet is ruled by damned, dirty apes.
Instead, the film in question will be a political comedy, Our Brand Is Crisis, which Clooney will produce—but not appear in—with Bullock in talks to star. With a script by The Men Who Stare At Goats' Peter Straughan, it's a fictional take on Rachel Boynton's 2005 documentary of the same name, which followed Greenberg Carville Shrum, the political marketing firm led by skeleton king James Carville, as he and his undead cohorts brought Clintonesque tactics to Bolivia's 2002 presidential election.
While Bullock seems like a natural fit to play Carville, she is, in fact, in talks to play political consultant "Calamity" Jane Bodine, "who often quotes famous people to help hammer home her talking points." Confirmation of her participation is expected soon, as is the inevitable use of the album title Our Band Is Crisis.
