It’s been about 10 years since Sarah Jessica Parker last talked about her fancy shoes and graphic late-night escapades as a regular on a TV series. That might be changing soon, though, thanks to Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Anonymous Content, the producers of HBO’s True Detective.
This comes via Deadline, which reports that Sidney Kimmel Entertainment has picked up the rights to Busted: A Tale Of Corruption And Betrayal In The City Of Brotherly Love, a non-fiction book about a pair of investigative reporters uncovering corruption throughout Philadelphia’s police department. The two women, Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker, even won a Pulitzer Prize for their work back in 2009. David Frankel, the director of The Devil Wears Prada, is attached to direct Busted’s pilot episode, and Sarah Jessica Parker is reportedly in talks to take one of the two leads.
Considering that this focuses on a crime-solving duo, Busted seems to have the potential to become a kind of female-centric True Detective. If we assume Sarah Jessica Parker is this show’s Woody Harrelson, she needs a similarly famous person to be her Matthew McConaughey. Maybe Game Of Thrones’ Lena Headey? It would be pretty badass to see the two of them kicking in the teeth of some corrupt Philly cops.
