Sarah Michelle Gellar joins the cast of Star Wars Rebels
Recently, there was a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. And though we feared something terrible had happened, it turns out that it was just millions of Buffy nerds, bereft when Sarah Michelle Gellar was again banished from our televisions, abruptly calming down. And that’s because she’s back—in voice form, anyway: /Film reports that Gellar has joined the cast of the Disney XD animated series Star Wars Rebels.
The final episode of season one—which just aired and is worth checking out—was still percolating in the minds of its audience when it was revealed that Gellar would be joining the show for season two in a recurring role. Details on her character are being kept under wraps, but it seems safe to go ahead and assume she’s going to be the Sarlacc. That’s everyone’s favorite character, right? It’s likely Gellar’s husband Freddie Prinze, Jr. may have played a small role in getting her to come aboard, since he voices the character of Kanan Jarrus, the human Jedi Padawan who survived Order 66 and then… actually, let’s not risk the ire of any spoiler-phobic viewers out there. We’ll simply say that Boba Fett is overrated as a character, and then commence the calm, dispassionate level of debate that Star Wars fans are famous for.
