Sarah Silverman has never been shy about sharing her political views (or her views about anything, really), and the outspoken feminist has once again taken to the Internet to protest what she calls a “$500,000 vagina tax.” She’s referring to the wage gap, which sounds like something Cosmo would make you feel insecure about but is actually the phenomenon of women earning 78 cents to every dollar a man makes in the workplace. The wage gap is a complex issue influenced by many factors, but, as Silverman points out, there’s only one surefire way to avoid it: Get a dick.
The theme of the campaign touted in the video below is “crowdfund the wage gap,” and if it reaches its stated goal of $29 trillion, the Equal Payback Project promises to cut a check to every woman in America for the amount they’ve been missing out on over the years. Barring that, the money will go to the National Women’s Law Center, which is pretty cool too.
