Satisfy your inner Master Builder with these snazzy retro Lego kits
Appealing to nostalgia is tricky, but the generation-spanning toy Lego may be the perfect conduit, as Chris McVeigh’s retro Lego designs and photography tap directly into the somewhat-blockier-than-you-remember-it past. In his latest series, he renders the technology of the past—from old CRT televisions (rabbit ears included) and computers to vintage cameras—in full plastic-bricked glory.
In the true Lego spirit, McVeigh offers the building guides for these designs for free on his website. Given the recent success of The Lego Movie, Legos are cool again—which means you can use this as an opportunity to educate the youth about your totally cool childhood by building an ersatz version of it in Lego today. McVeigh also sells pre-packaged kits with all the pieces included for many of his works from his store. [via Complex]
