Save some time by watching every single Simpsons couch gag at once

The Simpson’s couch gags have become emblematic of the fate of the series as it moves into its 25th year: Still capable of inspired brilliance, but frequently bloated and overly self-indulgent (the recent Don Hertzfeldt gag that opened the show’s season premiere being a firm mark in the “brilliant” camp). And if you don’t believe us, well, now you can compare all of the couch gags deployed by the show in the past quarter century for yourself. All at once.

Yes, someone has taken all 462 distinct couch gags and stitched them together into a massive, cacophonous mosaic of blue TV screens, fourth-wall breaking nonsense, and, of course, gratuitous violence. Most of the gags cut out after five seconds, but the further into the show’s run you go, the more likely you are to see jokes still going after 30 or 45. Also, the longer you go, the more likely you are to get a headache, because you’re straining to track dozens of tiny individual screens while the sound of 100 different iterations of the show’s theme song blares in your ear.
