Devious Maids (Lifetime, 9 p.m.): “Grime And Punishment” (get it? MAIDS!) is here, and we’re sure it’s going to be one hell of a fourth season finale. We mean, Devious Maids has been doing such a ridiculous (in all the best ways) Scientology riff this entire season, so we’re assuming it all ends with either an ascension into the cosmos or at least an attempted ascension into the cosmos. Fingers crossed!
Angie Tribeca (TBS, 9 p.m.): Hehe, “Electoral Dysfunction.” Way to go out with a bang in your second season, Angie Tribeca. “The thrilling conclusion to Season 2. Every question answered. Every twist explained. A logically and emotionally gratifying finale that is sure to silence all critics and guarantee a third season.” Well we’re sold. Mayhem Global, Sgt. Pepper, Heather Graham—this will all definitely make sense come the end of “Electoral Dysfunction.” Hehe.
UnREAL (Lifetime, 10 p.m.): UnREAL’s divisive second season also ends tonight, with “Friendly Fire.” Ah, we’re going to miss you most of all, war-based episode titles. “In the second-season finale, Quinn’s plans for the remaining two contestants could be foiled by an unexpected turn of events. Meanwhile, Rachel stands up to Coleman just as his plot to expose the show begins to unfold.” This season could also end with an ascension into the cosmos, and seeing as the show has already been renewed for a third season, Gwen Ihnat would love to see how they’d write themselves out of that corner.
Premieres and finales
2016 Summer Olympics (NBC, 8 p.m.): Oh yeah, that sports things is also on tonight. What competitions are on the docket for this day of Olympic adventure? Gymnastics (men’s team all-around final) and swimming finals (men’s 200m freestyle, women’s 100m backstroke, men’s 100m backstroke, swimming women’s 100m breaststroke). Sports!
Bachelor In Paradise (ABC, 8 p.m.): Starting now, it’s two nights of Bachelor In Paradise in a row. Our professional opinion? Just watch Burning Love season three instead.
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta (VH1, 8 p.m.): It’s “Exposed And Unfiltered: Part 2,” also known as the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta fifth season finale. You would think the entire rest of the show’s fifth season would have been both exposed and unfiltered enough, but you’d be wrong—thus the whole two-part thing.
Hitchcock/Truffaut (HBO, 9 p.m.): Listen up, nerds! Who needs sports when you can watch an Alfred Hitchcock and François Truffaut documentary? We know that sounds sarcastic, but trust us: We’re completely serious. Hitchcock/Truffaut sees itself as “a love letter to cinema and two of its renowned talents. This illuminating documentary explores the art and influence of Alfred Hitchcock through his famed 1962 interview with French auteur François Truffaut.” Yes, please!
