Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Wednesday, January 11. All times are Eastern.

Schitt’s Creek (Pop TV, 8 p.m.): The Rose family is back for Schitt’s Creek’s third season and their “Opening Night.” “Johnny looks to find a new purpose, while Moira faces the harsh realities of local politics.” What was Johnny’s old purpose? Schitt’s Creek plans to answer that question. What, exactly, is having its opening night is another question that needs answering, but that’s why you watch.
Nightcap (Pop TV, 8:30 p.m.): Nightcap’s first season ends tonight, but don’t worry about it’s fate; it’s already been renewed for a second season. In “Guest In A Snake,” “Staci ponders taking a new job working for Wendy Williams. Meanwhile, Mariska Hargitay agrees to a dangerous stunt involving an anaconda; and Joel Schumacher interrupts Todd’s first directing assignment with Rosie Perez.” Will Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’s Hargitay end up as the guest in a snake? If so, we’ll consider it an ode to that SVU episode where Big Boi is eaten by hyenas. What a way to go.
Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce (Bravo, 10 p.m.): Get hyped, Lisa Edelstein fans—Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce returns for its seven-episode (basic cable, baby) third season tonight: “Fallout from a scandal impacts Abby while she and Jake care for Becca’s abandoned baby in the season 3 opener. Also: Delia confronts Albert about sabotaging her wedding; Jo contemplates dating her baker; and Phoebe hosts a ceremony.” Our reviewer Gwen Ihnat knows all about scandal, so we’ll have to see how she rates the action in this episode.
Premieres and finales
Ice (Audience Network, 8 p.m.): Ice continues its first season with its winter premiere, “Facet”: “While Cam and Pieter scheme to gain control of Green & Green, Ava takes a bigger role in the family business against Jake’s wishes. In the wake of his father’s death Freddy takes steps to get clean. Carlos hits a dead end in his investigation.”
Are You The One? (MTV, 9 p.m.): Short answer: no. Long answer: MTV’s love-meets-money competition show is back for its fifth season tonight. The refresher, for those unaware of the premise: “Twenty-two singles move into a house in the Dominican Republic to try and pair up as 11 perfect matches and win one million dollars.” And remember: We’re now one step closer to the newest season of The Challenge.
Wahlburgers (A&E, 9:30 p.m.): Another season of Wahlburgers comes to end tonight. That’s right, Wahlburgers seventh season is saying goodbye to all of us with “Thanxmas,” which both sounds nonexistent and, well, late: “The holidays are celebrated as Mark and his kids visit Alma, but Donnie is unable to attend.”
Workaholics (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.): It may not be April Fools’ Day yet, but Workaholics wants to get you in the mood with its seventh-season premiere, “Trainees’ Day”: “The title of best pranksters in the office pits the guys against a group of trainees.” Will this all end like Training Day? Probably. (Reviewer Dennis Perkins should probably consider this a warning then.) Workaholics isn’t afraid to go there. Especially when the title of best pranksters in the office is on the line.
Restored (DIY, 10 p.m.): “Restored will star preservationist Brett Waterman as he revives a variety of old homes with fascinating stories to their original luster.” We know what you’re thinking: “Nerd!” You’re probably right. But this sort of thing is what the DIY Channel is all about, so it sounds like a specific brand of gold to us.
Street Science (Science Channel, 10:00/10:30 p.m.): “Science guy Kevin Delaney leaves his lab behind to hit the streets for experiments that are so unusual, off-beat, and so unexpected they will blow your mind.” The series premieres with two episodes, “Big Bam Boom” and “Fire Tornado”; the former is all about “what it takes to make it snow in Florida,” while the latter is about “the science behind fire.” Will there be a lot of property damage? Finding out is half the fun.
Jeff & Some Aliens (Comedy Central, 10:30 p.m.): Animation, aliens, and Brett Gelman. At least one of those things is sure to grab your attention. Comedy Central’s latest series, Jeff & Some Aliens, just so happens to have all three of them. (It’s also a spin-off, if that’s the sort of thing you’re into.) The series “follows the story of Jeff (voiced by Brett Gelman), Earth’s most average guy, and three Azurian aliens, Sammy, Jimmy, and Ted (voiced by Alessandro Minoli), who live with him in his shitty one bedroom/one bath apartment. The aliens are sent to observe the intricate complexities of the human condition, but they mostly end up just wreaking havoc on Jeff’s life.” Oh, aliens—they think they’re people.
Full Frontal With Samantha Bee (TBS, 10:30 p.m.): Full Frontal is now in its second season and also airing on Wednesday nights, finally, taking its rightful place where it belongs, in the Wednesday Night What’s On Tonight space. Who likes Mondays? Neither Garfield nor Samantha Bee, that’s for sure.
